The beautiful, durable & hand-crafted jute bags from The Jacksons are a joyous outcome of the design collaboration between Louise Jackson and the skilfull traditional handicraft workers in south-west Bangladesh.
It is more than just designing & creating a brand … The Jacksons are striving to help overcome poverty and improve women’s social standing. The wonderful women who make our bags have access to free medical care and schools, & are paid directly, giving them more power to make decisions within the families. Louise visits regularly to see at first hand the real benefits.
The Jacksons are proud to be an ethical brand taking a responsible approach to materials and the planet but also helping in the fight against global poverty and women’s role in the global society.
The work with Bangladesh is inspiring us all to stock more thoughtful brands in our showrooms and stores, to engage with our industry to take greater responsibility and to help our customers make more educated choices for the world around us.
There is no Planet B.
